Internet Star Vows to Defend Subscriber Title Amidst Ronaldo’s Rise
Renowned YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as Mr Beast, has expressed his concerns over the increasing YouTube influence of Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a candid discussion on Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, Mr Beast admitted he feels uneasy about the prospect of Ronaldo surpassing him in subscriber count. With over 318 million subscribers, Mr Beast currently holds the title of the most-subscribed individual on YouTube.
However, Ronaldo’s rapid ascent on the platform has the internet sensation on high alert. The footballer launched his channel, UR Cristiano, in August and quickly shattered records by becoming the fastest to reach 10 million subscribers. His channel now boasts an impressive 63.9 million subscribers in just a few months, positioning him as a serious contender for YouTube dominance.
Mr Beast, 26, recognized Ronaldo’s extensive online reach, stating, “I broke the world record for most subs in a month, and two months later, Ronaldo comes on… If anyone could pass me, it would be Ronaldo.”
The YouTuber acknowledged that Ronaldo’s popularity across various platforms poses a potential threat to his reign as the top creator on YouTube.
To counter Ronaldo’s momentum, Donaldson hinted at a possible collaboration with Argentine legend Lionel Messi, who is Ronaldo’s long-time rival. “I’m not going down without a fight. If Messi’s the only thing standing between Ronaldo passing me, I’d be all in for a Messi collab,” he joked.
Messi, the Argentine captain and seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, remains a significant figure in the football world, and a collaboration with Mr Beast could significantly boost the YouTuber’s subscriber count.
As Ronaldo continues to expand his digital presence beyond football, his entry into YouTube adds another exciting chapter to his already legendary career. Whether Mr Beast’s potential collaboration with Messi will be enough to hold off Ronaldo’s rise on the platform remains to be seen.
