Pakistani actress Mahira Khan recently shared a video on Instagram of herself dancing and singing to music on the set of her film Neelofer, which also features Fawad Khan. The movie, directed by Ammar Rassol and released earlier this year, tells the story of a writer and a blind woman who fall in love.
In the post, Khan reflected on the enchanting power of music. She captioned the video:
“I recently realized that nothing helps me escape reality as quickly as music does. While going through old videos and deleting some, I found this one and realized it’s my thing. I love having music on, and when I can’t resist (which happens quite often), I have to get up and dance. Even on days when my heart is heavy or I’m feeling down, a song can transport me somewhere else and lift my spirits, if only for a moment.
“Sometimes my makeup artist, friends, or husband might find it endearing or amusing and record me. At other times, it’s so routine that they barely notice (like Seher [Ahsan Hafeez] in this video—actually, that’s just Seher). But they all understand that it’s my happy place. It truly is.”
She concluded her post with “Tender mercies 🤸🏻♀️🕊️” and invited her followers to “guess the set” of the video. Fans quickly guessed: Neelofer.
