ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani actress Madiha Imam has strongly responded to social media trolls persistently questioning her husband’s religious beliefs.
The actress, who married Indian producer Moji Basar in May last year, has repeatedly clarified that her husband is not Hindu, yet the rumors continue to circulate.
In a recent Reddit post, a user inquired if Madiha was from a Syed family and if a Syeda girl could marry a Hindu. The actress angrily replied, “I have clarified a thousand times that my husband is not Hindu. We had our Nikkah ceremony, please now be calm.”
Madiha further emphasized the need to respect each other’s beliefs, saying, “We should avoid making negative remarks about anyone’s religion, race, or nationality.”
Her frustration is palpable, and her plea for tolerance and understanding is a timely reminder of the importance of respecting each other’s differences. Despite her repeated clarifications, the trolls continue to target her and her husband, highlighting the darker side of social media.
Madiha and Moji’s wedding was a beautiful blend of cultures, with the ceremony taking place in the UAE and the reception held in India. The couple’s love knows no borders, and it’s high time the trolls learn to respect their union.
