ISLAMABAD: Bollywood’s superstars Aamir Khan and Karina Kapoor’s new movie “Laal Singh Chaddha” is being released in Pakistani cinemas.
The importers are aiming for August 11 release of the movie in Pakistan which is being distributed by Paramount Pictures globally. In Pakistan, Cinepax Media group is importing this movie.
General Manager of Cinepax Media Group Saad Baig told media that they have submitted a request to obtain NOC for Laal Singh Chaddha to the Information Ministry.
In 2019, the PTI government banned the Indian content in Pakistan as the tension between the neighbours continued to rise following India’s revocation of the special status of Kashmir.
There has been no Bollywood release in Pakistan since 2019. The cinemas have been running Hollywood and local films. Hence, the news of release of Aamir Khan’s upcoming offering, Laal Singh Chaddha, in Pakistan has gone viral.
The Information Ministry said that a NOC request has been received for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha in Pakistan.
While the issues raised by the Information Ministry and Censor Boards are quite obvious, the industry insiders believe that there is a fair chance of the release of the film in Pakistan.
