A video recently went viral, purportedly showing renowned singer Kumar Sanu dedicating a song to Imran Khan, the founder of PTI.
In the clip, Sanu’s image appears onstage, leading many to believe he was performing the song. However, Kumar Sanu has since taken to his Instagram profile to address the situation and clarify the authenticity of the video.
According to Sanu, the video in question was not a genuine recording but rather a creation of artificial intelligence. He strongly denies any involvement in singing for Pakistan’s former prime minister, stating that the audio circulating on social media platforms like Facebook is not his voice.
Sanu expressed his frustration, accusing certain individuals of trying to tarnish his reputation with this misleading content.
In his Instagram post, Sanu emphasized, “I want to clarify that I have never sung any song for Pakistan’s former prime minister. The audio circulating on Facebook is not my voice—it has been created using AI.”
He further criticized the misuse of technology, calling it a serious issue. Sanu urged the Indian government to take prompt action to combat the misuse of AI and deepfake technologies, stressing the need to curb the spread of false information.
Deepfake technology has recently caused significant issues for Bollywood celebrities, with stars such as Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Alia Bhatt also falling victim to similar deceptive practices.
Kumar Sanu’s statement underscores the broader problem of digital manipulation and the urgent need for regulatory measures to prevent its abuse.
