Pakistani television star Komal Meer has finally spoken out about the growing speculation surrounding her appearance, particularly rumours of cosmetic surgery and recent weight gain. The Ehd-e-Wafa and Ae Dil actor set the record straight during a candid conversation on a podcast, tackling the criticism head-on.
In recent months, fans have noted a transformation in her look, prompting online buzz about possible cosmetic enhancements. But Komal was quick to shut down the speculation.
“Everyone assumes celebrities are getting procedures done — but honestly, I haven’t,” she said. “I go for facials like anyone else. I see housewives at aesthetic clinics with huge bills, but I swear, I haven’t had any surgery. People are so focused on my cheeks — they completely ignore the double chin!”
“Why Was I Fat-Shamed?”
Komal also opened up about the emotional toll of body shaming, revealing that her modest weight gain — just six kilograms — sparked unexpected backlash.
“I don’t know why people fat-shamed me. When I was skinny, they criticised me. Now that I’ve gained a little for a role, they’re still criticising me,” she said.
She explained that the weight gain was intentional, meant to help her embody a character in a drama that has since been delayed.
“I’ve been underweight my whole life, and everyone used to tell me to gain weight. When I finally did, for a role, the trolling started.”
A Message to the Trolls
Frustrated by the online negativity, Komal addressed her critics directly with a mix of honesty and humour.
“To my trolls — don’t be jealous of my weight gain! Let me breathe. I’ll hit the gym soon and tone my body. Just be patient. And for those asking about my diet plan — stay tuned, I’ll share it soon!”
Her unfiltered remarks have sparked support across social media, with fans and fellow celebrities applauding her transparency and calling for more compassion toward public figures facing body image scrutiny.
Komal Meer rose to fame with her debut in Resham Gali Ki Husna Rani and went on to earn acclaim with standout performances in Badshah Begum, Qalandar, and Ehd-e-Wafa. Her confidence and candidness continue to win hearts — both on and off screen.
