Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit is facing backlash for partnering with Pakistani promoter Rehan Siddiqui from Houston.
The controversy surrounds an August 2024 event in Houston, as Siddiqui is allegedly connected to Pakistani intelligence and is banned by the Indian Government.
The situation intensified when social media user Sunanda Vashisht shared a photo of the event poster featuring both Madhuri and Rehan.
The timing of the announcement, just after India’s Independence Day, made the matter more sensitive, prompting Twitter users to urge Madhuri to withdraw from the event immediately.
For several years, Indian police have monitored Rehan Siddiqui’s activities. A letter written by BJP Minister Kishan Reddy four years ago revealed that Siddiqui had been officially blacklisted by the Indian government. Despite this, Madhuri chose to collaborate with him, leading to disappointment among her fans and the public.
So far, Madhuri, also known as Mrs. Nene, has not commented on the issue, leaving people eagerly awaiting her response and questioning their association.
This isn’t the first time Madhuri has faced criticism. Last month, she posted (and later deleted) a tweet condemning Israel’s missile attack on Rafah, which drew criticism from various quarters. Additionally, she recently produced a Marathi movie called “Panchak” and is still filming for “Dance Deewane,” among other projects.
