Indian celebrity couple launches clothing brand label DKI, but fans are unhappy with pricing

Indian celebrity couple Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar launched their clothing brand “label DKI” on Thursday, but many fans are expressing dissatisfaction with the pricing.

In his vlog on Wednesday, Ibrahim shared his initial fears about launching the brand but remained optimistic, stating, “Whenever you start a new thing, you are afraid. But this fine… I hope everything will be okay.”

The “DKI” in the brand’s name represents Dipika Kakar Ibrahim. They announced that their first stock is ready to ship and will be dispatched promptly after orders are placed, although international shipping is not available at this time.

Known for their roles in popular Indian TV serials, the couple has also gained fame through Dipika’s participation in the reality show Bigg Boss in 2006.

However, feedback from fans has been mixed. One YouTube user commented, “The suits look average and are overpriced,” stating that she could find similar items at more reasonable prices from other brands.

Another fan urged them to take the criticism positively, emphasizing the need for unique and budget-friendly options.

“As customers, we want something exclusive and affordable. We can get ‘copy’ bridal suits from designers like Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi for INR 30,000,” they noted.

Others echoed these sentiments, arguing that while designer suits can command higher prices, everyday wear should be exceptional to justify the cost. According to the brand’s website, offerings include categories like “Daily Pehnava,” “Kuch Khaas,” “Tyohaaron ke Liye,” and “Label DKI brides,” with bridal suit prices starting at INR 28,000.

Overall, many customers feel the prices are too high, suggesting they could find similar designs at lower prices from brands like Myntra.
