Pakistan’s A-list actor Hania Aamir has become the latest victim of deepfake technology, with her manipulated video circulating online.
On Wednesday, Aamir took to her Instagram stories to alert her fans about inappropriate deepfake videos of her spreading on social media. She shared a screenshot of a local publication’s headline, “Hania Aamir’s indecent video goes viral,” and expressed her concern, stating, “This AI stuff is very scary.”
The star of ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’ questioned the need for legal measures, asking, “Can there be some laws in place?” She clarified, “These are NOT my videos if anyone is convinced they are.” Aamir also identified the alleged culprit behind the deepfake videos, an India-based user named ‘Anureet Sandhu,’ and urged her followers to report the account.
On a brighter note, Hania Aamir is currently captivating audiences on TV as Sharjeena in the hit serial ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum,’ which marks the much-anticipated small-screen return of Pakistani superstar Fahad Mustafa.
