LAHORE: Lahore is set to debut its first floating restaurant, a landmark initiative announced by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). The restaurant will be located near Harbanspura along the canal and is expected to become a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
The project, with an estimated budget of Rs 350 million, will feature various amenities, including seating areas, children’s play zones, and recreational facilities, offering a unique dining and leisure experience.
The PHA has revealed that three companies have been pre-qualified for the construction, and the project is expected to be completed in the near future.
Pink Buses Initiative
In a separate development, Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar has launched the “Pink Buses,” an exclusive transport service for women. These buses will operate across 16 routes in Lahore, enhancing safe and convenient transportation options for female commuters.
The Pink Bus initiative is part of a broader plan to introduce a fleet of 300 buses in Lahore.
Furthermore, Akbar announced plans to expand the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system to other major cities, including Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Multan, with an estimated deployment of 5,000 to 6,000 buses in each divisional headquarters.
These projects reflect Lahore’s efforts to modernize its infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
