Faisal Qureshi is a good actor but not a good son, says mother: Faisal explains it

ISLAMABAD: Acclaimed television actor Faisal Qureshi responded to his mother Afshan Qureshi’s statement, in which she expressed regret for not praying for him to be a good son and a good human being, apart from being a good actor.

Faisal Qureshi explained that people on Instagram and YouTube had misinterpreted his mother’s statement as an attention-seeking tactic.

Faisal pointed out that people often focus on the negative aspects of things rather than the positive. He found the situation amusing, as it created unnecessary drama about his relationship with his mother.

He advised his mother not to issue any clarification, although she eventually did clarify the interview clip that went viral.

“I was laughing at those people who were making an issue out of my mother’s statement. It’s as if they’ve never been scolded by their parents,” Faisal remarked.

He found the buzz around his mother’s statement about him quite funny, noting how easily facts can be twisted to gain attention on social media.

Commenting on fake news circulating online, Faisal mentioned that a friend had forwarded him a YouTube video falsely claiming he was selling a house in Gulberg. Faisal clarified to his friend that the house in question was not his; he had used it for shooting a TV drama.

Earlier, an old interview of Faisal Qureshi’s mother, Afshan Qureshi, discussing his role and success went viral on social media, leading to widespread speculation about the actor. A segment from Afshan Qureshi’s interview was edited and circulated by various social media pages.

In the viral clip, she discussed her prayers for her son’s success, lamenting that she had not prayed for him to be a good son and a human being. She also spoke about the issue of children leaving their parents in old age homes.
