K-pop sensation BTS has announced plans to start work on new music in the United States this month, with a new full-length album slated for release early next year, followed by a global tour.
The seven-member group shared the news during a 30-minute livestream on Weverse, the fan platform run by HYBE, the company that manages BTS. The stream attracted over 7.3 million live viewers, highlighting the band’s enduring popularity.
“We’re back!” declared member Jimin, while leader RM confirmed the upcoming project would be BTS’s first full-length album since 2020. The album will be produced partly in the U.S. and other countries.
This marks the band’s return to group activities after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service, which had put their international career on hold since 2022. The upcoming tour will also be their first in roughly four years.
BTS originally debuted on June 13, 2013, and quickly rose to become one of the biggest names in global pop music, thanks to a mix of catchy songs, polished choreography, and lyrics that often tackle social issues and youth empowerment.
Their return has been eagerly awaited by fans worldwide, many of whom have been following individual members’ solo projects during the hiatus.
The group’s reunion comes as K-pop continues to expand its global influence, and BTS’s next moves are expected to draw major attention from both fans and the industry.
While specific tour dates and album details have yet to be revealed, the promise of new music and live performances has already reignited excitement across the ARMY fanbase worldwide.
