British-Pakistani singer star Saira Peter has received a special letter of appreciation from Buckingham Palace for her recording of the British national anthem, “God Save the King,” following the coronation of King Charles III.
Upon receiving the soprano rendition, the King sent Saira a letter expressing his best wishes and sincere thanks for her public service. The letter was accompanied by a signed photo card from both himself and Queen Camilla.

Commissioned by UK government offices at Hastings Town Hall in East Sussex, the recording is utilized for official government events across the region, including citizenship ceremonies, according to a news release.
This follows Saira’s 2018 recording of “God Save the Queen,” also commissioned by the government, making her the first Asian and the only Pakistani to be granted this honour. That recording similarly resulted in a personal letter of thanks from the late Queen.
Saira Peter, a pioneer in her field—being Pakistan’s first opera singer, the world’s first Sufi opera singer, and the first Asian to record the British national anthem—continues to elevate Pakistan’s global image through her remarkable achievements.
