LOS ANGELES: The bitter legal feud between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has reignited with fresh intensity, as Pitt filed a new motion demanding access to private communications tied to the controversial sale of their once-shared French estate and winery, Château Miraval.
According to court documents filed on June 30 in California’s Superior Court, the 61-year-old Fight Club star is pressing for testimony and documents from Alexey Oliynik, an executive at Stoli Group, which acquired Jolie’s stake in the winery in 2021 through its wine division, Tenute del Mondo.
Pitt’s legal team claims Oliynik holds crucial information that could prove Jolie acted “with malice” by selling her share to a party Pitt had previously opposed. However, the Stoli executive has allegedly refused to cooperate, citing his Swiss residency as a shield from the court.
“These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt’s objections to the sale,” his lawyers argued, emphasizing that the sale was made “in defiance” of a mutual agreement requiring both parties’ consent.
Château Showdown: A Love Story Turned Legal Saga
The high-profile spat over the $160 million Château Miraval estate dates back to February 2022, when Pitt sued Jolie for violating their co-ownership agreement, which stated that neither could sell their stake without the other’s approval. Jolie countered months later, accusing Pitt of retaliation and controlling behavior following her 2016 divorce filing.
The glamorous former couple — who were together for 12 years and married for two — officially finalized their divorce last December, but their post-marital battles continue to make headlines.
Pitt and Jolie, who share six children — Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Vivienne and Knox (16) — originally purchased the 1,200-acre estate in southern France as a romantic retreat and business venture. The property later became the home of their award-winning rosé wine.
What’s Next in the Legal Vineyard?
With Pitt now seeking court intervention to force the release of internal communications, the court battle could intensify further, especially if Jolie’s sale is proven to be in breach of contract — or worse, motivated by malice.
The case is now shaping up as more than a property dispute — it’s a clash of reputations, business interests, and lingering emotional wounds from one of Hollywood’s most iconic breakups.
