Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend, model Lin Laishram, in a traditional Meitei ceremony held on Wednesday.
Sharing their joy on Instagram late Wednesday, the newlyweds, Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram, posted their first pictures from the ceremony. The wedding, following Meitei customs, took place in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur in India.
Captioning a series of five images with a tiny heart and infinity emoji, the couple declared, “From today, we are One,” along with the hashtag ‘just married’.
Their post garnered thousands of likes and heartfelt wishes from numerous social media users, extending blessings for this new chapter in their lives.
Reflecting on their journey, Hooda, who initially crossed paths with Laishram during a theatre rehearsal, shared his sentiments before the wedding, stating, “I felt it was important to honor the brideโs tradition. I’ve heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to partake in a lengthy sitting. But I’m eagerly anticipating the ceremony and embracing the traditions. Experiencing my life partner’s culture is my priority, hence my presence here.”
The ‘Highway’ actor continued, expressing, “We’ve been immersed in discussions about Manipuri culture for a while now. I’m genuinely excited and hoping for a smooth experience. I aim not to make any missteps.”
“Prayers for our joyful future, abundant with children and blessings. This union is an amalgamation of East and West, a cultural and traditional exchange,” he concluded.
Laishram, an actor, model, and entrepreneur, has appeared in supporting roles in films like ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Rangoon’, and ‘Jaane Jan’. She also owns a jewelry line named ‘Shamooo Sana’.
