AI-powered companions are becoming increasingly popular as loneliness rises and disillusionment with modern dating grows.
At first glance, “Jenny” appears to be a young, attractive Asian-American woman known for her flirty photos and captions on her X account. While some of her features may seem slightly enhanced—her skin unnaturally smooth and her bust unusually large for her petite frame—many overlook this uncanny aspect in an age of cosmetic procedures and photo editing. In reality, Jenny is not a real person but an AI-generated model available for hire as an online influencer or virtual companion.
Created by LushAI, a startup that claims to be the world’s first AI-powered modeling agency, Jenny aims to compete with OnlyFans, the popular subscription-based site known for hosting adult content creators.
Jenny offers similar services to human creators on OnlyFans, but with the advantage of being powered by an algorithm—allowing her to operate 24/7 throughout the year. For just $10 a month in Ethereum cryptocurrency, fans can access photos, videos, and private chats on Lush Chat.
LushAI also features Kupidly, an “exclusive social messaging platform” where users can connect and chat with Jenny and other AI models.
Eunn, the founder of LushAI who prefers to remain anonymous, envisions a future where platforms like his replace sites like OnlyFans entirely, placing AI at the forefront of modeling, online influencing, and internet-based companionship and sex work.
Eunn explained that LushAI was inspired by the intersection of increasing male loneliness and the rise of generative AI capable of crafting highly realistic digital personas. “The rise of OnlyFans is simply the free market’s response to catering to the needs of men who struggle to find a girlfriend in real life, so from a socioeconomic perspective, that’s where society is headed,” Eunn told Al Jazeera.
The demand is so high that the market values a woman at $100,000 to $200,000 per year simply for taking pictures and videos of herself and chatting with men online,” he stated.
“That represents an untapped need, and AI will compete with humans in the coming years to meet that demand, ultimately surpassing humans in this industry.”
Eunn explained that he sees no fundamental difference between an AI companion and a real woman selling “digitalized sexuality” on platforms like OnlyFans, Instagram, or TikTok.
“When you interact with what you consider a ‘real person’ online, you’re actually engaging with a digital representation of that person,” Eunn said.
Identifying himself as a U.S. citizen, Eunn noted that LushAI is registered in Panama and Singapore and operates with a team of remote employees.
