Veteran Pakistani actress Shagufta Ejaz announced on Thursday the passing of her husband, Yahya Siddiqui, who had been courageously battling cancer for the past five years.
Ejaz shared the sorrowful news through her Instagram account, appealing to her followers for prayers. In her post, she wrote: “My husband Yahya Siddiqui has passed away. Kindly recite Surah Fatiha for his maghfirat (forgiveness). JazakAllah.”
The news comes just days after Ejaz and Siddiqui marked their wedding anniversary in his hospital room, an event Ejaz had documented in a recent vlog on her YouTube channel. The touching video captured their daughter bringing a cake to celebrate the occasion despite the somber setting of the hospital.
Ejaz also voiced her concerns about the subpar facilities at the private hospital where Siddiqui was receiving treatment, and she asked her fans for their continued prayers.
Siddiqui had been undergoing treatment for cancer at the private hospital and had been fighting the illness for five years.
Despite his health challenges, the couple maintained a strong presence on social media, sharing their journey with fans and seeking support during difficult times.
Ejaz and Siddiqui were married in their second marriages and have two daughters together.
