DUBAI — Tajikistani singer and social media sensation Abdu Rozik was arrested at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning on allegations of theft, his management team confirmed in a statement to Khaleej Times.
The 21-year-old internet celebrity was taken into custody by authorities at approximately 5:00 a.m., shortly after landing in Dubai from Montenegro. While officials have yet to release an official statement, Rozik’s team acknowledged the arrest, saying:
“All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft.”
No further details regarding the complaint or circumstances of the alleged incident have been disclosed. Khaleej Times has contacted UAE authorities for an official response.
Rozik, who stands just over three feet tall due to a rare growth hormone deficiency, is one of the most recognizable young figures in the region. He holds a UAE Golden Visa and has lived in Dubai for several years, gaining fame through viral music videos, social media, and his appearance on Bigg Boss 16.
In 2024, Rozik made headlines with his boxing debut at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena and the launch of his restaurant chain, Habibi, in the United Kingdom.
That same year, he was questioned by India’s Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering probe involving a hospitality firm. While he was never named as an accused, the inquiry drew significant media attention.
Rozik’s arrest has sent shockwaves through his fan base and the influencer community. As the investigation unfolds, many await clarification from authorities on the nature of the allegations.
