Aamir Khan Returns with Sitaare Zameen Par, Set for Global Release in June, 2025

Bollywood icon Aamir Khan is making his much-anticipated comeback to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, set to hit cinemas worldwide on June 20, 2025.

According to Indian media, the film is an official Hindi adaptation of the Spanish hit Championes, and is directed by RS Prasanna. Aamir Khan takes on the role of a basketball coach who mentors a team of intellectually disabled youth, helping them discover confidence, resilience, and the power of teamwork.

The film is being viewed as a spiritual follow-up to Khan’s acclaimed 2007 release Taare Zameen Par, which sensitively explored childhood emotional and learning challenges. Like its predecessor, Sitaare Zameen Par also centers around young characters grappling with psychological and emotional struggles.

Actress Genelia D’Souza joins Khan in a leading role, marking her return to mainstream cinema in a heartfelt and impactful story.

The release was initially rumored for May 30, 2025, but has since been officially rescheduled to June 20 after wrapping up production and post-production.

In a move to connect more deeply with his audience, Aamir Khan has also launched a YouTube channel where he plans to share behind-the-scenes moments and insights into his filmmaking process.

With a compelling storyline and Aamir Khan’s signature depth, Sitaare Zameen Par is already generating buzz as one of the most inspiring releases of the year.
