Elon Musk, the prominent billionaire and Tesla chairman, emphasized the unacceptability of genocide while discussing the animosity fueled by Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza against Palestinians.

Musk, speaking on the Lex Fridman Podcast on YouTube, pointed out that the actions of the occupation forces could breed resentment toward Israel and contribute to the recruitment of more members for Hamas, a Palestinian resistance group.
“If you’re not going to outright commit genocide against an entire people, which obviously should not be acceptable to anyone, then you’re going to leave a lot of people alive who subsequently, you know, harbor animosity towards Israel,” Musk stated during the podcast.
The UK-based news website, the Middle East Eye, shared excerpts from Elon Musk’s interview on the X platform, formerly Twitter. Musk discussed the impact of Israel’s actions in Gaza, emphasizing the cycle of violence where for every Hamas member killed, Israel potentially creates more. Musk questioned the success of such a strategy, stating that if more members are created than eliminated, the objectives are not achieved.
He stated, “For every Hamas member that you kill, how many did you create? And if you create more than you kill, you’ve not succeeded.”
Musk further commented on the hostility fueled by Israel’s actions, particularly highlighting the tragic consequence of harming innocent children in Gaza. He suggested that such actions contribute to the radicalization of individuals who may later join groups like Hamas.
These remarks from Musk coincide with a challenging time in the region, with Netanyahu’s administration and occupation forces reportedly causing significant casualties among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The situation has led to a catastrophic forced migration and displacement of civilians, sparking international concern over the targeting of innocent lives.
