Double Murder Case
In a shocking revelation, authorities have identified a serving constable of the Elite Force as the primary suspect in a double murder case that took place in Lahore’s Hadiara area. The incident, which has raised serious concerns over the misuse of official authority and weapons, occurred during a violent altercation stemming from a land dispute.
According to police sources, the suspect, identified as Ijaz Majeed, allegedly opened fire on rival individuals during a confrontation over land ownership. Investigators confirmed that Majeed used an official weapon issued to him by the Elite Force during the deadly incident. The firing resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left two others critically injured.
Reports indicate that Ijaz was not acting alone. He was accompanied by his brother at the time of the attack. Both suspects managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident. Law enforcement agencies have launched a manhunt and are conducting raids at multiple locations in an effort to arrest the fugitives.
Police officials have confirmed that a formal case has been registered against Ijaz Majeed for the unlawful use of his government-issued firearm in a civilian dispute.
Authorities are also reviewing how the Elite Force weapon came to be used in a personal matter, with internal disciplinary action expected to follow pending the results of the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident involving property-related violence, a court in Multan has sentenced a man to death for murdering his own father. The convict, Sanwal, was found guilty of killing his father, Allah Ditta, during a dispute over property ownership last year.
Following his arrest, Sanwal was tried in a court of law where substantial evidence was presented linking him to the crime.
After a detailed trial process, the court handed down the death sentence, reflecting the severity of the offense and the breakdown of familial bonds over material possessions.
These two incidents, occurring in different parts of Punjab, highlight the growing number of violent confrontations over property disputes in the region.
Both cases have sparked public outrage and renewed calls for stronger conflict resolution mechanisms and stricter regulation over the use of official arms by law enforcement personnel.
