ISLAMABAD – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has officially released the provincial merit list for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2025, bringing welcome news to thousands of students across the country, ARY News reported.
The merit list features eligible students from numerous public sector universities, including Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, and several other institutions across Sindh. According to a spokesperson from SAU, a dedicated online portal has been launched, enabling applicants to verify whether they’ve been selected, waitlisted, or marked ineligible due to academic or administrative issues.
The PM Youth Laptop Scheme 2025 is designed to equip students with digital tools that enhance their academic, research, and professional skills. The initiative plays a pivotal role in bridging the digital divide and fostering technology-driven education in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
To ensure transparency and easy access, SAU has published the merit list on its notice boards, official website, and social media platforms. Additionally, Student Focal Persons (SFPs) have been appointed to assist students in navigating the process and resolving concerns.
Students who believe they were wrongfully omitted from the merit list are encouraged to contact their designated SFPs with supporting documentation. The deadline for filing objections is July 4, 2025, after which final decisions will be made.
Applicants can check their status by visiting the official HEC website, navigating to the PM Laptop Scheme 2025 section, and entering their CNIC or registration number.
In a parallel development, and as part of broader youth empowerment efforts, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a free higher education initiative for the children of industrial and mine workers, marking a major step toward social equity and access to education.
