Binance Academy, the educational division of global crypto platform Binance, has entered into a strategic partnership with Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) to advance blockchain education nationwide. The initiative aims to train 300 instructors and reach 80,000 students across 20 universities by the year 2026.
This collaboration is part of a broader digital transformation agenda and is supported by the Global University Outreach Program (GUOP)—a major Web3 educational initiative launched in partnership with the Blockchain & AI Technology Centre (BAITC).
The program focuses on integrating blockchain technology into higher education curricula through accessible learning materials, industry collaboration, and the provision of professional certifications.
“This collaboration marks a critical step toward developing a workforce skilled in blockchain technology and capable of driving digital innovation,” said Bader Al Kalooti, Head of Growth and Operations for Binance in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA). “By supporting both educators and students, we are opening doors to new opportunities across various sectors.”
Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, praised the initiative as a milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward becoming a digitally advanced nation. She emphasized that the partnership aligns with the national vision to develop a digitally empowered youth.
“This effort will contribute to economic development and help establish Pakistan as a global center for blockchain expertise,” she noted. “Through this collaboration with Binance and BAITC, we are ensuring our students have the skills required to lead in the global digital economy.”
Since 2022, Binance Academy has trained over 3,000 students from 13 universities across three provinces in Pakistan, equipping them with practical Web3 and blockchain knowledge.
Originally launched in Kazakhstan in 2023, the GUOP has expanded to 20 countries with plans to reach over 200 universities in more than 50 countries and educate more than one million students globally by 2026.
This latest partnership also underscores Binance’s commitment to innovation, compliance, and digital capacity-building in developing markets such as Pakistan.
