ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has classified a total of 92,500 polling stations nationwide, designating 17,500 as highly sensitive, 32,508 as sensitive, and 42,500 as normal for the upcoming general elections. These polling stations are categorized into groups A, B, and C based on their levels of sensitivity.

Among the highly sensitive polling stations, 6,599 are situated in Punjab, and 4,430 are in Sindh, all slated to be monitored by CCTV cameras. Balochistan has 2,038 highly sensitive polling stations, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 4,344.
In addition to the highly sensitive ones, Punjab has 15,829 sensitive polling stations, Sindh has 8,030, Balochistan has 2,068, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has over 6,000 under the sensitive category.
The official polling scheme is scheduled to be unveiled 15 days before the February 8 general elections. Responding to inquiries, it was mentioned that this detailed scheme will provide specific information regarding the polling stations and their respective categories.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has also issued a code of conduct for security officials who will be deployed during the elections. This code binds security officials, excluding the Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces, to carry out their duties in compliance with the law and cooperate with presiding officers, returning officers (ROs), and polling staff.
