ISLAMABAD: PM Shehbaz Sharif praised and thanked Pakistanis living abroad for sending $57 million in one day, setting a record for the State Bank’s largest inflow.
One-day deposits to the Roshan Digital Account were the largest in Pakistan, according to a tweet from the State Bank of Pakistan.
He hailed the ex-pat community for their faith in Pakistan’s leadership in a tweet. “The Roshan Digital Account Scheme is supported by our government,” he said.
After the $57 million deposited in a single day, the cumulative deposits in the Roshan Digital Account have now exceeded $4.5 billion.
Pakistanis sent a record-breaking amount of money living outside of Pakistan in one day, according to Prime Minister Shahbaz. Pakistan’s overseas Pakistanis are a priceless resource.
