SUKKUR/ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway project will be completed within 30 months.
The part of motorway project is being completed with the public-private partnership, he added.
Prime Minister stated this while laying the foundation stone of a 306-kilometre-long Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway _ M-6 on Tuesday.
Shehbaz Sharif participated in the ground breaking ceremony in Sukkur while Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah and other officials of the provincial and federal governments attended the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the project was a breakthrough to promote motorways in the province.
He said that local people must be given preference in employment for the development work of the project.
With the completion of Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway project, all the important cities of Pakistan will be connected via motorways.
Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said the beginning of work on Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway was an important achievement for the fulfillment of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s dream of expanding the Motorways network to entire country.
She said that after completion, the project would provide modern, comfortable, and speedy travelling facilities to the people.
Information Minister said the project would pace up economic activities in the country and facilitate the traders, industrialists, and farmers to transport their products.
