ISLAMABAD: Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Industries, Production, and National Food Security stressed that new Pakistani agricultural products should be given access to the United States (US) market.
Federal Minister stated this during his Wednesday meeting with US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome.
Rana Tanveer said that Pakistan values its partnership with the US and appreciates the US support in the Research and Endowment Fund for the Agricultural University.
The minister said the government wants to strengthen agricultural cooperation with America and sought technology transfer to increase production in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the US Ambassador said that the US would continue its cooperation in the social and agricultural sectors in Pakistan. Donald Blome added that the US has been working with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Pakistan to overcome food deficiency.
The ambassador said that the US will enhance its cooperation with Pakistan in the agricultural sector and support Pakistan in mitigating the effects of climate change on agriculture.
