BALI, Indonesia: Indonesia and Pakistan are launching direct flights this year. Indonesiaโs Deputy Minister for Marketing Tourism and Creative Economy Ni Made Eau Marthini disclosed this upcoming development at the Bali Beyond Travel Fair while talking to the media.
She hoped for the initiation of direct air travel connecting the two nations in the near future. She did not mention any date, but media reports indicated that from Dec 2023, Indonesia and Pakistan can start direct flights.

Also, Deputy Minister said that she would collaborate with her Pakistani counterpart to implement the plan of launching direct flights.
Marthini underscored the need to promote the two countries economic ties. Reflecting on the historical relationship between Indonesia and Pakistan, the Indonesian Deputy Minister emphasized the enduring strength of their bond, dating back to their respective independence.
Moreover, she stated that although bilateral trade exists between the two nations, it needs to be broadened, The Express Tribune reported today.
Deputy Minister Marthini desired to enhance trade with Pakistan on a reciprocal basis and said that tourism holds plenty of potential in achieving this goal.
She said, โBy encouraging visits from Pakistan to Indonesia and vice versa, the deputy minister believes their bilateral relations will deepen significantly.โ
Deputy Minister further highlighted the significance of the tourism sector and fostering people-to-people connections.
She assured that concerted efforts are underway and promising outcomes can be expected in the near future.
She discussed Indonesia’s attractiveness as a tourist country for Pakistani visitors and cited Indonesiaโs top ranking in halal tourism with striking culinary similarities to Pakistan.
Extending a warm welcome to Pakistani investors, the Indonesian minister expressed her openness to investment from Pakistan.
She urged Pakistani entrepreneurs to explore various sectors for investment with a primary focus on the tourism industry.
