ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said the IMF executive board is taking up Pakistan’s request to approve $1.17 billion seventh and eighth tranches on August 29 under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
The government had already received Letter of Intent (LoI) on August 12 from the IMF and now the disbursement of loan is just a matter of couple of weeks.
Finance Minister said, “The revival of IMF programme is an indication that the country’s external financing needs have been fulfilled by the bilateral friends.”
The revival of the enhanced $7 billion EFF programme of the IMF will be taken up the executive board in its meeting on August 29, 2022 in Washington, DC.
Miftah said the disbursement of IMF loan will pave the way for economic stability in the country.
