On Wednesday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced a reduction of Rs5 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel and Rs8 per litre in the price of petrol for the upcoming two weeks.
As a result, the revised prices for petrol and HSD will be Rs262 and Rs253 per litre, respectively.
Additionally, the cost of light diesel oil (LDO) was reduced by Rs5 per litre to reach Rs147.68, while the cost of kerosene oil remained constant at Rs164.07.
The finance minister stated in a video address that neither the rupee’s value relative to the dollar nor the price of petroleum products had changed significantly over the previous 15 days.

The government did make an effort to clear as many areas as possible to offer assistance to the populace.

These price cuts come after a previous round on May 15, when the costs of petrol, HSD, and LDO each decreased by Rs12, Rs30, and Rs12.
Along with announcing these price cuts, Dar also appealed to transporters and other departments that utilize diesel to pass on the relief to the public by lowering fares.
The goal was to ensure that every sector of the economy could benefit from this development.
