PM issued directives to enhance efficiency of ministries and bureaucracy

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of federal ministries and the bureaucracy, highlighting their failure to formulate and execute effective development plans.

In response, he has initiated decisive measures to rectify these issues. He has authorized the appointment of consultants in 10 key ministries, including the Ministry of Information Technology, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Prime Minister Sharif underscored his disappointment with the limited capacity and subpar performance of government officials, which he identified as a significant factor behind the underutilization of development budgets. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that development funds are fully utilized, instructing ministries to improve project planning and implementation.

Key initiatives include the immediate hiring of consultants in ministries to bolster their performance. The Ministry of Information Technology is among the first to benefit from this initiative, with other ministries potentially following suit based on necessity.

The prime minister emphasized expediting the approval process for consultants, particularly where urgent improvements are required.

Sharif’s directives reflect a strategic shift towards optimizing bureaucratic efficiency and enhancing project delivery across ministries.

By addressing systemic shortcomings and encouraging more effective use of allocated budgets, these reforms are expected to accelerate developmental initiatives and deliver tangible benefits to the public. This proactive approach underscores the prime minister’s commitment to improving governance and achieving robust outcomes in national development efforts.
