Akif Saeed appointed as new chairman of SECP

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed Akif Saeed as new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) with immediate effect.

Earlier, he joined the SECP as Commissioner along with Abdul Rehman Waraich, and Mujtaba Ahmed Lodhi for three years.

Akif Saeed has over 30 years of post-qualification experience including 25 years of banking and capital market experience. Earlier in 2014 , he was appointed as Commissioner SECP. 

Abdul Rehman Warraich has served in both Provincial and Federal Governments including the Debt Management department, and the Ministry of Finance. 

While Mujtaba Ahmad Lodhi is currently serving as a Member (Mergers & Acquisitions) at the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) since August 2020.
