Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry delivered a sharp response to Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi’s recent remarks about Operation Sindoor.
The Indian general had described the four-day military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May as merely a “trailer,” implying that the full-scale conflict was yet to unfold.
General Dwivedi stated, “As far as Sindoor 1.0 is concerned, I would like to say that the movie had not even started. We just showed them a trailer, and that trailer ended in 88 hours.” Responding to this, DG ISPR dismissed the statement as the product of a “delusional mindset.”
He highlighted the operational outcomes of the May confrontation, noting that seven Indian fighter jets were shot down, 26 military sites were attacked, and India’s S-400 missile system was destroyed during the engagement.
The DG ISPR then questioned whether the Indian Army Chief was eager to witness the “full horror movie,” suggesting that India was attempting to spin its May defeat into a perceived victory to appeal to domestic audiences.
He added that such statements were primarily designed to bolster nationalist sentiment in India, but they could not mask the reality of the operational setbacks faced by the Indian military.
Earlier, on November 26, Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting the federal and provincial governments. He emphasized that coordinated national efforts and institutional synergy are essential for ensuring lasting peace, stability, and prosperity.
The COAS further noted that Pakistan is a country of consequence, destined to secure its rightful place in the international community. He praised the professionalism, resolve, and commitment of the Armed Forces, highlighting that their performance during Operation Marka-e-Haq had enhanced Pakistan’s global stature and reinforced the nation’s strategic credibility.
