During an official visit to the US this week, sources told The News that Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa is set to meet with senior Biden administration officials.
Gen. Bajwa met with UN Secretary-General Birame Diop’s military advisor the day before to discuss issues of mutual interest and the regional security situation. Also brought up was the destruction brought on by the most recent floods.
The army chief was anticipated to arrive in Washington, DC over the weekend, but it wasn’t confirmed until the publication of this story.

The army leader is likely to visit the US for a week, according to other sources, although Pakistani embassy staff members are keeping quiet about it as well.
He may also meet with senior defence, intelligence, and national security officials as well as Centcom officials while he is here, beginning on Monday (today).
On Friday, the head of the army arrived in New York.
General Bajwa and former prime minister Imran Khan last paid an official visit to the US in 2019.
