The District Police Officer Abbottabad said the murder of Dr Warda followed a planned scheme. He issued the statement while speaking on a television programme. He said the police have arrested three suspects linked to the murder. He added that four people participated in the crime. He said the case now carries charges of kidnapping and murder.
Dr Warda went missing from Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital in Abbottabad. Officials later found her body near the forests of Thandiyan. Doctors demanded a joint investigation team to ensure a thorough probe. The demand followed public concern over the rising number of violent incidents.
Investigators trace motive to gold dispute
Initial findings show a financial dispute may have triggered the crime. Police said the doctor gave gold to her friend Rida two years ago. They said the gold was never returned. They added that Rida took Dr Warda to her under-construction house on the day of the incident. They said she then handed the doctor to suspects named Shamariz, Nadeem and Aurangzeb.
The victim’s father accused police of taking bribes in the case. He demanded the arrest of the SHO and DSP. Police officials said the investigation continues under existing legal procedures. They assured action against everyone involved in the crime.
Separate case reported in Karachi
Police in Karachi reported a separate missing case involving a female doctor. They said a woman named Dr Mishal allegedly jumped into a nullah. They said the incident occurred in Scout Colony late at night. They said eyewitnesses informed police about the event. They added that the investigation remains ongoing.
