Pakistan and Kazakhstan have launched a two-week joint counterterrorism exercise to strengthen military cooperation and enhance operational readiness. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise titled “Dostarym-V” will run from October 13 to 24, 2025, at the Special Operations School in Cherat.
Elite Forces Join Hands for Counterterrorism Training
The Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army and the Special Forces of the Kazakhstan Army are participating in the exercise. The joint training aims to refine professional skills, share operational experience, and boost coordination between the two allied nations.
Focus on Strengthening Military Relations
The opening ceremony of the exercise took place on Tuesday in Cherat. The ISPR statement highlighted that the training seeks to further enhance historic military-to-military relations and deepen defence cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability
Pakistan regularly conducts similar exercises with countries across Asia, the Middle East, and other regions. These engagements improve counterterrorism capabilities, strengthen strategic partnerships, and promote regional peace and stability.
High-Level Defence Engagements Continue
In April, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Kazakhstan and met Defence Minister Colonel General Ruslan. During the meeting, both sides discussed regional security challenges, shared strategic interests, and opportunities for deeper collaboration. They reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace and strengthening bilateral defence ties.
Mutual Learning and Cooperation
According to ISPR, the participating troops are eager to benefit from each other’s expertise and operational experience. The exercise underscores Pakistan’s dedication to international defence cooperation and counterterrorism efforts.
