NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Authorities have imposed a day-long curfew in several areas of North Waziristan, including Razmak, Miramshah, and Mirali, following intelligence reports of potential terrorist movement, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The curfew, which began at 6:00 AM and will remain in effect until 6:00 PM, covers key routes and areas stretching from Miramshah to Bannu, including Kot Bridge, Dankeen, and Melogai Bridge.
Officials described the measure as a necessary step taken for security reasons and emphasized that it is a precaution aimed at preventing any untoward incident. โThe decision to impose the curfew was made in the interest of public safety,โ a security official stated.
The district administration has urged residents to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and cooperate with security forces to help maintain peace and order. Authorities have assured the public that the situation is being closely monitored.
However, the curfew has drawn concern from local residents. Many expressed frustration over the disruption to daily life, particularly the impact on trade and education.
โWhenever curfews are imposed, it deeply affects our businesses and schools,โ said Abdullah, a local social worker. โWe understand the need for security, but itโs important that long-term solutions are also considered.โ
