His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Chairman of RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, has officially announced the launch of the King Salman Gate project in Makkah. The landmark development is set to reshape the urban landscape around AlMasjid AlHaram, introducing a massive 12 million square meter multi-use space.
Strategically located adjacent to AlMasjid AlHaram, the project aims to enhance access to the Holy Mosque, improve infrastructure, and provide superior services to pilgrims and residents alike. With a vision aligned to the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030, the development promises to enrich every visitor’s spiritual journey.
The project will offer an integrated destination combining residential, hospitality, commercial, and cultural spaces, and is designed to support 900,000 indoor and outdoor prayer spaces. The design merges Makkah’s historic architectural identity with modern urban living, ensuring both spiritual significance and comfort.
Boost to Jobs, Heritage, and Sustainable Development
The King Salman Gate will also contribute to preserving Makkah’s cultural legacy, with restoration and development efforts focused on 19,000 square meters of heritage sites. These efforts aim to protect the city’s unique history while embracing innovation.
The development is expected to generate over 300,000 jobs by 2036, directly supporting Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification goals and enhancing local and international investment in the region.
