Deadliest Conflict for Journalists Continues Unchecked
The ongoing violence in Gaza is now considered the most lethal ever faced by reporters. About 260 journalists have been killed since October 2023, as per CPJ.
Furthermore, the death toll of journalists in Lebanon has risen significantly following the eruption of the Iran-related crisis on February 28. Journalists and presenters continue to face significant risks while reporting the violence in the field.
International organizations have appealed to intervene immediately. This is to protect the lives of journalists working under difficult circumstances. It needs to be mentioned here that the lives of journalists should always remain a matter of priority. They serve the crucial purpose of conveying important information to the public in conflict zones.
Lastly, this new round of violence provides yet another dimension in the discussion over civilians and their protection.
