NAB to probe Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: The accountability court has issued a written order concerning the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) request to probe Imran Khan, the Chairman of PTI, in connection to the 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust scandal.
The NAB has been granted permission to investigate the former prime minister for a period of three days in Adiala Jail.
The order states that, as per the NAB’s claims, Imran Khan returned the embezzled funds from Pakistan to the accused.
The bureau alleges that the suspect returned the money and acquired land and funds for Al-Qadir Trust, providing substantial evidence of Imran Khan’s involvement in corrupt practices.
In addition, the NAB has sought the physical remand of the suspect to facilitate a thorough investigation.
Imran Khan contends that he did not receive any financial benefits and argues that if money laundering were proven, the cost would amount to 100 million pounds.

NAB officials are authorized to interrogate the PTI chief in jail for a duration of three days. The next hearing on the request for physical remand is scheduled for November 17.
Earlier in the week, the Interior Ministry issued a notification for Imran Khan’s jail trial in the 190-million-pound case, and the NAB had delivered the arrest warrants to him in jail the day before.
Simultaneously, the accountability court in Islamabad extended the interim bail of the former prime minister’s wife until November 17 in the Toshakhana and 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust cases.
During the proceedings, in the absence of Bushra Bibi’s legal representation, the judge inquired about her whereabouts. The NAB prosecutor mentioned being unaware, as Sardar Latif Khosa was the counsel in the case.
