National Commitment
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has called on Pakistanโs future civil service leaders to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and unwavering national commitment in the performance of their duties.
His remarks came during an address to the probationary officers of the 52nd Common Training Programme (CTP) of the Civil Services Academy, held at the Army Auditorium on Thursday.
The interaction formed a key component of a national initiative to foster deeper civil-military understanding and strengthen institutional synergy between the two pillars of governance. The initiative aims to cultivate mutual respect and collaborative engagement between Pakistanโs military leadership and its emerging civil bureaucracy.
As part of their training module, the probationary officers were attached to various Pakistan Army formations stationed across peace-time and operational zones in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
This attachment offered the trainees hands-on exposure to military operations and logistics, allowing them to witness first-hand the Armyโs role in national security and regional stability.
During his address, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the evolving nature of national security, outlining both internal and external challenges confronting Pakistan. He reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ pivotal role in maintaining peace, defending sovereignty, and supporting national resilience.
The COAS stressed the importance of inter-institutional cohesion, noting that strong cooperation between civil and military institutions is critical to advancing Pakistanโs strategic goals and achieving long-term development.
He also underscored the necessity of a transparent, efficient, and service-oriented civil bureaucracy, calling it an essential component in the architecture of good governance and policy execution.
Field Marshal Munir praised the participants for their commitment to public service and urged them to remain grounded in ethics, dedicated to national interest, and resilient in the face of challenges.
The participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact directly with the top military leadership. They noted that the engagement provided them with valuable insights into the Pakistan Armyโs strategic vision, operational capabilities, and developmental contributions.
The session concluded with a robust question-and-answer segment, reflecting a spirit of open dialogue, institutional cooperation, and shared responsibility for the nationโs progress.
