In a major step towards digital transformation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur signed the province’s first-ever e-summary on Monday, formally initiating a paperless governance system. The move marks a shift from traditional paperwork to a fully digital administrative process, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness in governance.
Under the new system, all summaries requiring the chief minister’s approval will now be submitted and reviewed electronically. The transition is aimed at reducing delays, cutting down on the use of paper, and promoting a more streamlined administrative workflow.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Gandapur hailed the development as a landmark initiative for the province. “The e-summary system is a significant leap forward in making government operations more efficient and less dependent on outdated bureaucratic methods,” he stated.
He further revealed that the government plans to introduce a digital “Note Part” system in the next phase of the transformation. This system will handle official communications, notifications, and orders digitally, reinforcing the province’s vision for a paperless governance framework.
In addition, preparations are underway to digitise the working papers and documentation for provincial cabinet meetings. This broader shift is expected to create a more agile and transparent system of governance.
According to CM Gandapur, the initiative will not only conserve time and public resources but also reduce bureaucratic hurdles and improve coordination across departments. “This move will help enhance departmental performance and provide citizens with more effective public service delivery,” he said.
By embracing technology, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government aims to set a precedent for modern governance practices across Pakistan. The e-summary system is expected to be a model for other provinces to follow in the journey toward digitised and accountable administration.
