Chinese Vice President Han Zheng emphasized the special position that Pakistan holds in China’s neighborhood diplomacy, reaffirming China’s commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s interests and economic development. He made this statement during a meeting with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Summit in New York.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed various aspects of their bilateral relationship, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and economic and financial cooperation. Kakar expressed his appreciation for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and socio-economic development. He also commended China’s opposition to holding any G20 meeting in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting China’s commitment to upholding international law and UN resolutions.

Vice President Han Zheng emphasized the uniqueness of the friendship between China and Pakistan, which has endured over time due to the deep fraternal ties between the peoples of both nations.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress of CPEC projects in Pakistan and recognized the central role of CPEC in Pakistan’s socio-economic development. They reaffirmed their strong commitment to continue working together to achieve shared objectives related to CPEC. Additionally, they noted the celebratory events held in both countries to mark the 10th anniversary of CPEC and expressed their intention to deepen cooperation in multilateral forums.
Kakar and Han agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China. Furthermore, the caretaker Prime Minister extended an invitation to Vice President Han Zheng to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, which was accepted by the Chinese Vice President.
