India’s national security and aerospace magazine Force has claimed that China is set to help Pakistan emerge as the leading military power in the region.
In a detailed analysis, Force analyst Pravin Sawhney described Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Independence Day announcement of a new Army Rocket Force Command as “big news,” asserting it was modeled after China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force.
Sawhney alleged that during the recent “Operation Sindoor,” India faced not only Pakistan’s military but also the PLA’s non-kinetic capabilities—delivered discreetly without direct Chinese involvement. He argued that Beijing has now decided to “fully support” Pakistan’s armed forces to achieve regional military dominance.
Highlighting the Pakistan Air Force’s performance, Sawhney noted its operational and strategic edge in recent confrontations with India, particularly its use of Beyond Visual Range (BVR) weaponry backed by advanced digital warfare systems in what he termed a “multi-domain operation.” He added that both the Air Force and the new Rocket Force Command will likely be integrated with China’s BeiDou satellite network to enhance precision missile targeting.
Sawhney also warned that the new rocket command could deter India’s plans to use its upgraded AGNI-V nuclear missile—capable of striking deep-buried targets up to 100 meters underground—against Pakistan’s underground nuclear facilities. “This new rocket command will prevent India from attempting such strikes,” he concluded.
