The Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) has announced 75 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the 2026–27 academic year as part of China’s initiative to strengthen educational ties with Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan will serve as the official nominating agency, responsible for shortlisting eligible applicants for this program.
The scholarships cover undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs across various academic disciplines, including a one-year Chinese language preparatory course where required.
Undergraduate programs typically last four to five years, master’s programs two to three years, and PhD programs three to four years, with the preparatory year being mandatory for undergraduates unless they hold a valid HSK Level 3 certificate. Both Chinese- and English-taught programs are available for master’s and PhD candidates.
The CSC scholarships provide comprehensive financial coverage, including full tuition, administrative and health insurance costs, accommodation in university dormitories or housing subsidies, and a monthly stipend according to CSC policy. Travel expenses, however, are the responsibility of the scholarship awardee.
Eligibility criteria require applicants to be Pakistani or AJK nationals in good health, with completed educational qualifications appropriate for the program level. Age limits are under 25 for undergraduate applicants, under 35 for master’s, and under 40 for PhD candidates.
Applicants must also meet CSC and university admission requirements, submit valid USAT or HAT test scores, and cannot hold another scholarship simultaneously. Candidates applying for professional degrees in medicine, engineering, law, architecture, or veterinary science must ensure accreditation from relevant councils such as PMDC, PEC, or PNC.
Applications must be submitted online through both the HEC and CSC portals. The HEC portal requires completion of the profile and submission of the online application, while the CSC portal requires downloading and signing the Type A application form (Agency Number: 5861). Undergraduate applicants must also take the CSCA test on December 21, 2025, and obtain a score report before the application deadline.
Shortlisted candidates will later submit attested documents, including educational certificates, CNIC, domicile, birth certificate, language proficiency proof, passport copy, study plan or research proposal, police clearance, recommendation letters, and other required documents.
