KARACHI โ A three-year-old girl died and two family members sustained injuries after a speeding oil tanker struck their motorcycle near Korangi Crossing on Monday, police said.
The accident occurred near Korangi Crossing Bridge in Allahwala Town when the tanker hit a motorcycle carrying three relatives. Police identified the deceased child as Sara. She was traveling with her 18-year-old uncle, Raj Muhammad, and her one-year-old brother, Subhan.
Fatal Collision Near Korangi Crossing
According to investigators, Raj Muhammad had taken the children out to buy juice when the tanker struck them. As a result, Sara died at the scene, while Raj Muhammad and Subhan suffered injuries. Rescue teams shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said the family lives in Allahwala Town and originally hails from Gilgit-Baltistan. After completing legal formalities, authorities handed the childโs body over to the family.
Meanwhile, the tanker driver attempted to flee. However, bystanders apprehended him and handed him over to Zaman Town Police. Authorities have since confiscated the vehicle and initiated legal proceedings.
In a separate incident, a late-night street race in the DHA area left a food delivery rider critically injured. The crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. near Saba Signal on Khayaban-e-Ittihad.
Police said two cars were racing when one driver lost control. The vehicle overturned multiple times before crashing into 32-year-old Farhan, who was riding his motorcycle on the opposite side of the road.
Although the suspects briefly stopped, they fled shortly afterward. Police have launched a manhunt.
