ISLAMABAD: General Michael Erik Kurilla, the Chief of US Central Command (CENTCOM), has concluded his three-day visit to Pakistan.
During his stay in Pakistan, the US CENTCOM commander engaged in meetings with senior military leaders to enhance the security situation and to strengthen the military-to-military relationship between USCENTCOM and the Pakistan Armed Forces.
On July 23rd, General Kurilla held small group meetings at the Army House in Rawalpindi. In this meeting he met with General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff, and other high-ranking military officials.

The discussions primarily focused on bolstering military cooperation between the Pakistani Armed Forces and USCENTCOM. Key areas of interest included counter-terrorism strategies, military trauma combat casualty care, security cooperation, disaster relief, and opportunities for humanitarian assistance.
The US CENTCOM press statement also mentioned that on July 24th, General Kurilla visited Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Center.
ย During the visit, he met with Major General Asad Nawaz Khan, the Pakistani Director General of Military Training. He also greeted Brigadier Suleman Khalid, the Commandant of the National Counter Terrorism Center. Additionally, he had the opportunity to visit the Pakistani Army Sniper School.
During the discussions, the focus was on exploring joint counter-terrorism training opportunities between Pakistan and USCENTCOM. The discussion also includes the training management process of the Pakistani Army. The visit comprised a live fire assault demonstration, a sniper range visit, and a weapon overview.
General Kurilla expressed his admiration for the professionalism, dedication, and competency of everyone he met within the Pakistan military.
He emphasized that CENTCOM values the US-Pakistan relationship based on its own merits. CENTCOM is committed to fortifying this significant partnership, which spans over 75 years. It is stated in a press release from the central command.
