A chaotic scene unfolded at a drug rehabilitation center in Orangi Town, Karachi, where at least 117 patients escaped following a violent raid by around 150 individuals. The attack involved gunfire and significant property damage, plunging the area into panic.
The incident has sparked fear and concern among local residents, some of whom allege that the center is a front for drug trafficking and that its patients have been involved in thefts in the neighborhood.
In response, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken swift action, instructing the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible.
Police have launched an investigation and are actively working to locate and apprehend the escaped individuals.
