Cadillac has boldly positioned itself against European ultra-luxury titans with its flagship Celestiq electric vehicle, now commanding a starting price exceeding $400,000. This pricing strategy places the American automaker’s most exclusive offering above the entry-level Rolls-Royce Spectre, marking a decisive move into territory traditionally dominated by British and German marques.
The Celestiq’s dramatic price evolution tells a compelling story. Originally launched around $340,000, the hand-built five-door liftback has seen increases equivalent to purchasing an entire Cadillac Lyriq. Unlike conventional models such as the Escalade ESV V-Series at approximately $173,595, the Celestiq remains available exclusively through personalized inquiry, with final pricing tailored to individual buyer specifications.
Performance credentials justify the premium positioning. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system generates 447kW and delivers 868Nm of torque, enabling spirited 3.8-second acceleration to 60mph. A substantial 111kWh battery pack provides 483km of range, while 200kW DC fast-charging capability ensures practical long-distance usability. Engineering highlights include 23-inch alloy wheels, adaptive air suspension with Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, active rear steering, and an electronically deployed rear spoiler.
Technological innovation defines the interior experience. A panoramic 55-inch dashboard display anchors the digital ecosystem, supplemented by an 11-inch center console screen, rear 8-inch control panel, and dual 12.6-inch seatback monitors. The innovative smart glass roof features independently adjustable quadrants, allowing passengers personalized transparency control.
Luxury appointments match the technological prowess. Hand-finished leather and metalwork showcase artisanal craftsmanship, while the 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference Audio System delivers concert-hall acoustics. Four-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seating, plus thoughtful details like warmed armrests emphasize comfort obsession.
Production remains intentionally limited—just 25 units this year, potentially expanding to several hundred annually. Each Celestiq represents Cadillac’s most ambitious ultra-luxury effort since the legendary 1950s Eldorado Brougham, finally bringing concept-car dreams to discerning customers’ driveways.
