Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari expressed his commitment to serving the country alongside the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N. Bhutto-Zardari emphasized that their strategic alliances and calculations have been finalized, indicating readiness for political collaboration.
In recent developments, Bhutto-Zardari raised concerns regarding President Arif Alvi’s actions, citing potential dual legal proceedings for breaching constitutional mandates. Speaking outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, he highlighted two key issues: the President’s controversial decision to dissolve the assembly amid a no-confidence motion and his failure to convene the National Assembly session as prescribed by the constitution.
Bilawal Bhutto denounced President Alvi’s actions as a blatant disregard for constitutional obligations, asserting that the presidency’s authority transcends the individual occupying the position. He underscored the importance of upholding constitutional integrity and stressed that if the President neglects his duties, it becomes the Speaker’s responsibility to ensure adherence to constitutional processes.
Rejecting the notion of impeachment, Bhutto-Zardari advocated for the election of a new president through established electoral procedures. He reiterated the constitutional mandate for a National Assembly session on February 29 under any circumstances, emphasizing the paramount importance of adherence to constitutional principles and processes.
